One very good boy is doing his part to save the earth. Chipper the 8-year-old rescue dog loves to recycle! Chipper and his owner Katie Pollak pick up garbage wherever they spot it near their home in Mesa, Arizona.

Katie Pollak noticed her pup was very fascinated with disposable water bottles shortly after she adopted him from a shelter in 2011.

"He started picking them up immediately, so I encouraged it and rewarded it," Pollak told The Today Show. "And he motivated me to do the same. I really started getting out and picking up more than I was before, so we created kind of a team."

The dynamic duo love to embark on adventures in the great outdoors, including hiking and paddle boarding. And everywhere they go, they show up prepared with bags to collect any garbage they find along the way – from plastic bottles and beer cans to pieces of clothing that people have left behind. Pollak documents their adventures on her Instagram account, which now has almost 30,000 followers. 

"He really has been an inspiration," Pollak said of her pooch. "I'll go to group cleanups in the area, and when people see him they're like, 'Chipper's here!' So everyone gets to come meet him and see what he's all about."

Chipper is a wonderful example of how we can all do our part to help preserve the planet and make a difference!
