Shining a Spotlight on the Natural Ingredients of Paw Beauty

"Clean" things are on the rise and on-trend. You've heard of "clean eating" and "clean beauty". According to the New York Times, research consultant Brandessence claims that almost one-third of the U.S. beauty market is considered "clean." In fact, it's an industry expected to grow 12% from 2020 through 2027.

Now that more humans than ever focus on the quality of products they're slathering on their skin, a new list of questions opens up. If we don't want toxins and harmful substances in our beauty products anymore, shouldn't that include the dog grooming products we use for the furry buddies in our lives?

As pet parents, using clean, natural ingredients on your dog is as meaningful as using natural beauty products on yourself! Let's shine a spotlight on a few of the natural ingredients found in our Paw Beauty product line and detail how they make your pup's skin healthier and their fur shine.

Vitamin B

Vitamin B is an essential nutrient required for tons of canine bodily functions. When it comes to their skin and coats, Vitamin B protects from environmental factors and keeps fur and hair healthy and shiny.

Note that when we say "B vitamins", there are eight Vitamin B compounds that contribute to your pup's wellness. Two particular compounds worth highlighting for natural dog grooming products are Vitamin B5 (panthenol) and Vitamin B7 –  commonly known as Biotin (the main ingredient in most human hair growth supplements). While B5 helps prevent hair loss, B7 ensures that your dog's skin, coat, and nails grow strong and healthily. In our Silky Smooth dog conditioner, vitamins B5 and B7 nourish and strengthen your pooch's coat, leaving it soft and shiny.

Moringa Protein

Here's an ingredient you probably haven't heard of! We'd like to give some much-deserved attention to the Moringa plant, a vital ingredient in our Deep Clean Pet Shampoo. Known as the "miracle tree," Moringa plants have been used for centuries for their medicinal properties. Moringa protein (extracted from the plant) is an excellent ingredient for natural dog shampoo. It's rich in vitamins A, C, and E, as well as antioxidants, which help to nourish and protect the skin and coat. Plus, Moringa extract has anti inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal properties, making it the paw-fect solution for pooches with skin issues or allergies. It doesn't just clean and protect pet hair; it hydrates and detoxifies as well.

Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic acid, anyone?)

Sodium hyaluronate or hyaluronic acid is a natural compound in the body that retains moisture and keeps tissues well-lubricated. This is a commonly used ingredient in human skincare for the exact same reason that it's ideal for our dogs. Its purpose is to restore hydration to skin and increase suppleness. When used in our Advanced Moisturizing dog shampoo, sodium hyaluronate helps to repair damaged skin and protect against further damage caused by environmental factors.

Mango Butter

Mango butter comes from the seeds of the mango fruit. When this natural butter is made, the cold-pressing of the seed oil releases powerful active ingredients. Mango butter relieves skin inflammation, prevents sunburn, and deeply moisturizes. This is an essential ingredient in our Relief Healing dog paw balm to soothe and heal dry, cracked paws, leaving them soft and moisturized. It's great for not only worn paws but also dry noses or anywhere your dog has dry skin. Feel free to dab some on your dry skin, too  although maybe use a different stick of pet balm than the one you use on your pooch!

Marshmallow Root

We think of marshmallows as those fluffy white sweet treats, but marshmallow root couldn't be more different. This healing herb has actually been used for literally thousands of years. In our All-Purpose Pet Wipes, marshmallow root helps to soothe and calm your dog's inflamed or irritated skin. Its main use is to add moisture to dry spots and target any damp spots – making it well-suited to tackle any problem area for your pup. Designate them as ear wipes, paw wipes, eye wipes, or whatever kind of dog wipes you want! The possibilities are endless.

Using clean ingredients in the products we use on our dogs is essential to keeping them healthy and happy. From dog shampoo to paw balm and wipes for dogs, there are plenty of natural ingredients in our Paw Beauty line that offer a range of benefits for our furry best friends. At least you can have peace of mind when you're trying to keep your pup clean!

Remember, always take the time to read labels and choose products with all natural ingredients that are safe and effective for your pet. After all, they deserve the very best.
